#BloggerHighlights

Hello beautiful people,

Today I will be highlighting Brittny in this weeks “The Power of Women Empowerment”.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself + what it is you do and where can we find you on social media?

My name is Brittny Dean I am 32 years old, from Akron Ohio.

I have been married a little over a year, and hoping to add a new addition to our family very soon.

I currently work as a family advocate for a child care center and have a self care blog.

I can be found on instagram at TwistedCrown_.

2. What does women empowerment mean to you?

Supporting and encouraging women to be the best possible version of
themselves.

3. What do you love about women empowerment?

I love the bond and sisterhood that women empowerment creates, especially for
black women.

At times I feel like the media sheds a negative light on us, so it is a
beautiful things to see women come together and support one another.

4. What is something you’re willing to bring to women empowerment?

I’m willing to bring transparency.

I like many other women have flaws and have struggled, but I have also persevered.

I think it is important to be open about who we are and where we have been to give hope to the next woman who has had similar life experiences.

5. How are you showing up for yourself and other women?

For many years I ran myself ragged trying to take care of everyone and
everything around me.

I now know that I am no help to anyone else if i’m not taking
care of me.

I show up for myself by making myself and my needs a priority.

I think this can be a struggle for many women because we wear so many hats, but I stress to all the women in my life “self care is not selfish, it is necessary” .

6. What are 3-5 things you value about being a woman?

I value being a giver of life, our determination and our resilience.
