May 23, 2017.

Hello God’s greatest creations,

It feels like I haven’t posted a blog in forever, I don’t know if it’s because I just don’t have time to blog anymore or what the case is, but I miss blogging and I’m going to definitely make it one of my priorities again! I hope everyone’s having an amazing year, checking things off their 2017 vision boards, meeting new people, expericing new things and staying healthy.

How’s life for you?

Life for me has been nothing short of amazing and pure joy! 2017 has definitely been an eye opening year for me, & I can only thank God for his grace and faithfulness! I started a new job a little over 3 months ago, that I loveeeee so much! Like I’ve stated in previous blogs, the work load is a lot but it’s definitely worth it! Last month we were approved for our new place, which I’m super excited about! We finally have more space, & we also have a washer and dryer in our unit that we’ve been wanting for forever! I still hate the whole packing, moving and unpacking part so hopefully this weekend me and my man get everything together, fingers crossed!

One of my 2017 goals was to meet/connect with some new women, experience new things and just live life with NO regrets! I know some people are content with having just one or two friends, but I think it’s important to have a variety of friends who might not be just like you, but the goal is to be successful and live a life you love! I totally think it’s okay to have one or two friends you are super close with, but it’s definitely nothing wrong with having different friends, from different walks of life! It shows you a different perspective, & you might learn a few things from these new people!

I think it’s hilarious that last year around this time I couldn’t imagine having new friends, but this year I’m glad I made that one of my goals and I don’t regret meeting any of these women! We all support each other’s dreams, uplift and motivate each other to strive for greatness and that’s just the type of people I need in my life! It’s no drama, competition or anyone hating on each other because we all want to see each other win, & that’s important in any friendship, relationship etc!

#MimosaUnashamedBrunch

May 13th, I had my very first Mimosa Unashamed Brunch, & it was nothing short of amazing! I didn’t know what to expect, but I knew I had a job to do! I was a nervous wreck from the moment I made the post, to the moment we started setting up for the event! Mind you… I’m no public speaker, & to be honest, I’m the biggest introvert, E V E R lbvs! The thought of speaking in front of people, terrifies me! I don’t know where I get my shyness from because both of my parents aren’t shy people, & they both are extroverts!

I said a quick prayer, & asked God for wisdom + guidance and he gave me just that to lead the small group of 45 women. I didn’t think it would’ve turnt out the way it did, because it was soooo much happening the hours before the event and my mind/thoughts was literally all over the place! I just think it’s important that you have people around you that’s supportive and willing to take some of the load off your shoulders because having a business isn’t easy and there are some things you can’t do alone! & I’m super thankful for my support system, & to all of the amazing women that came out to celebrate #QueenHood! ❤

Hello beautiful souls, I'm Takeia Cage, and I'm the CEO/Founder of Unashamed Queens! I'm an advocate, momtrepreneur, life coach, and motivational blogger. I have always been dedicated to helping women re-discover their light, while walking in their truth, unashamed! It wasn’t until I was in my early twenties, when I discovered my calling to be an advocate for the women in my community. I have always wanted to be apart of a sisterhood that supported, uplifted, and celebrated women without us feeling judged or even ashamed of our journey. There wasn’t many women empowerment groups in my community that actually focused on celebrating queens, so I decided to create my own community for unashamed women. Now I am the founder of Unashamed Queens, a women’s empowerment group that focuses on supporting, uplifitng, and celebrating queenhood. I would always tell myself years ago that you can’t help anyone if you can’t help yourself, and today I believe that statement is so untrue. It wasn’t until I was re-discovering my own light, that I wanted to also encourage/help other women to re-discover theirs as well. I truly believe that we’re all stronger together, and that creating a safe-space for women to feel support and loved through sisterhood.
